Audi Q5 3.0 tdi DSG gearbox.. Why I have this for sale. I used to own a 2011 Q5 SE 3.0 tdi. I bought the car about six years ago and at the time it was the most expensive car that I had bought. Consequently after about a year of use I noticed the DSG had become very clunky when shifting down at low speeds. Internet research brought stories of very expensive DSG failures and replacement costing several thousands. So, having quite a bit of value tied up in the car which was otherwise perfect I started to consider my options. I have access to workshop facilities and decide to look for a replacement gearbox before’needing’ one. Surprisingly, an ideal gearbox turned up quickly at a local breakers from a crash damaged SQ5 that was 2012. Especially as I was doing quite a bit of towing with it. The funny thing was the the clunky shift seemed to miraculously cure itself and the car went on to complete 200k miles without any issues. As far as I can recall the donor car was something like 35 – 40k miles which was close to half the mileage of my car at the time I bought the gearbox. I expect to find one six years later with so little mileage would be a challenge. Contact me for a quote with your postcode.
